In a recent article in the Harvard Business Review, an author outlines why he believes email marketing is still the king of the marketing world.
In one sample group, he sited that the response rate in the contest of direct mail versus email only had a 1% difference, but direct mail had a 100 times higher cost. He summarizes the article by saying, "It's a very safe bet that email will beat all your other marketing methods in terms of return on investment."
